History
Rainforests are located on or near the equator in South and Central America, Africa, southeast Asia, and Oceania. Although they comprise around 6% of the Earth’s surface area, they are home to around 50% of the planet’s species. Such an amazing array of diversity means that the world’s disparate rainforests are home to creatures that live nowhere else. Snakes, butterflies, and frogs live in all rainforests. Chimps live only in Africa, while Orangutans have a limited range in southeast Asia. Jungle bears are found in South America. Although Crocodiles can be found in Africa and Asia, the Caiman featured in this set lives only in the western hemisphere.
