History:
Mother lions give birth to litters of between one to six cubs after carrying them for around 110 days. Lion cubs are born with their eyes closed, and won’t open them until about a week after birth. After about three weeks, they start to walk.
Female lions leave the pride to give birth, and do not usually return until around two months after their cubs are born. They then work to build up their confidence by playing amongst themselves and the adult lions, who tolerate them with varying levels of acceptance and annoyance.
