Description

  • This jaw-snapping great white shark requires no batteries. A pull mechanism allows the user to recreate the iconic shark’s movements, opening and closing its powerful mouth to show off rows of teeth. Sturdy plastic makes it perfect for repeated play.
  • Characteristics: The sight of its dorsal fin is enough to strike fear in most, but don’t worry; this great white doesn’t bite hard. A finger-operated pull mechanism opens and shuts the shark’s mouth.
  • Size and Color: At nearly 12 inches long, this is a substantial snapper. Its dark grey and light grey coloration mimic the great white’s actual coloration.
  • The Jaw Snapping Great White Shark is part of the Safariology® collection.
  • All of our products are Non-toxic and BPA free.

History

Shark fossils first appear in the Silurian period, around 450 million years ago. That’s millions of years before dinosaurs first walked the Earth. The Golden Age of prehistoric sharks, though, began about 360 million years ago when sharks became the largest predators in the sea. They had already begun to perfect their torpedo-shaped bodies, fins, and sharp teeth. Sharks continued to survive mass extinctions, leading to the massive Megalodon, the largest shark ever, perhaps two to three times as long as a great white shark. Scientists doubt great whites are direct descendants of Megalodon, but the two do share some common features.
