History:

Emperor penguins are very social animals, and they use their large numbers to help one another. For example, emperor penguins huddle together to combat the cold temperature of their incredibly harsh environment. Once an individual penguin has warmed up enough, it will move to the outside of the group so other penguins have the opportunity to temporarily avoid the frigid, whipping winds of Antarctica.
