History:
Due to their massive size, strength, and aggression towards any creature that enters their territory, adult hippopotamuses are one of the few mammals that has no known, consistent predator. Hippos have been documented attacking crocodiles, lions prowling the riverbanks, and are known to charge and flip large boats. Despite their impressive and intimidating physique, hippos are classified as a vulnerable species due to a loss of their natural habitat from the growth and spread of human populations.
